New Max ATV Australia Blog

We're replacing the forum with a blog. We wanted to kill two birds with one stone.

A place to put photo's and news up, and a place for Max users to comment.

Wayne will be posting here shortly with the latest news, and your comments are most welcome.

  1. Am wondering how the 2010 hydrostatic drives will handle Australian conditions of heat and hilly terrain under load. Typically the hydraulic pumps of these drives have to run constantly at full revs to avoid damage. In the colder climates of the northern hemisphere shown in the video clips they you would think perform well. In Oz I can see expensive rebuilds of these pumps over the horizon if worked hard and under load.

  2. Hydrostatic drive systems have been used in everything from ride-on mowers to skid-steer loaders for many years, and provided they are fitted with an adequate oil-cooler, they are practically maintenance free.
We have done extensive testing of the Mudd-Ox 8x8 under high load and temperature situations and the hydrostatic system runs well under the manufacturers stated temperature limits.
Whilst the Mudd-Ox 8x8 is hydrostatic, the MAX ATV range have a non-differential wet-clutch brake transmission which is compact and simple and provides a very high degree of performance and manoeuvrability.
